My research interests are to understand and identify fundamental aspects of promoting axonal regeneration. These fundamentals strategies include the relationship between different molecular mechanisms involving neuroplasticity, regeneration, and neuronal death functions after CNS injuries.

My current research focuses on understanding the contribution of cell type-specific gene expression programs, especially neuronal types, during superior colliculus (SC) development and in the identification of molecular markers that define specific SC neurons. I am also interested in characterizing the role of lncRNAs in neuronal death and regeneration.
